Eurozone PMI rises, oil prices continue to climb. Here's what you need to know.

  • Asian indices were mostly up in overnight trading with the Shanghai Composite up 1.33%. Major European indices are mixed and US futures indicate a positive open.

  • HSBC may consider moving its headquarters to France amidst the UK's uncertain regulatory environment. The bank already has its government bond trading business headquarterted in Paris. Only months earlier, HSBC had denied rumors that it was moving its headquarters to Hong Kong. 
  • Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will step down at the end of his second term in office. Zapatero was a supporter of austerity measures and his absence will create a vacuum making it hard for socialist leaders to pass new austerity reforms.
  • Vodafone is selling a 44% stake of France's SFR to French media conglomerate Vivendi for €7.95 billion. Vivendi already owns the remaining 56% stake in the company.
  • BP has asked US regulators for permission to begin drilling in the Gulf of Mexico less than 12 months after its oil spill in the region. BP hopes to resume drilling as early as July and has said it will incorporate strict safety and supervisory rules.
